Phoenix Historic Districts–Francis Quarles Story Neighborhood
The F.Q. Story District is one of the FIRST historic districts of Phoenix. I recently captured a drive up and down a couple of the streets in this neighborhood on my camera. The video starts out at 13th Ave and Portland, heads north to Latham, then west to 15th Ave, and finally east from 15th Ave and Portland, capturing the entire street of Portland. Hope you enjoy this little bit of the Francis Quarles Story Neighborhood! More clips to come!
Now for a tidbit of history:
The F.Q. Story Neighborhood’s construction originally began in the Roaring 20′s, at which time our population was a mere 29,000! It is an insane number to grasp considering the Phoenix Metropolitan area consists of roughly 4 MILLION people today.
This charming historic district contains 602 homes spanning a vast range of square footage and architecture styles.
