The Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale

Thank goodness I have not had to spend a lot of time in a hospital or doctor’s office so far in my life,  but when we moved to Scottsdale we were very excited to be able to join the Mayo Clinic for all of our health care needs.   After hearing so much about it, I had high expectations, and I have to say that they have been met.   When my son broke his wrist we were in and out of the emergency room in 1.5 hours with a cast.  Amazing.  When I visit them for a physical, all of my blood tests are done on the same day as the exam with the results waiting for the doctor when we meet.  It is a fast, efficient system that seems to work extremely well.  We have had family come stay with us just so they could use the services of the fine doctors that work there, and their results were also extremely positive.  The Mayo Clinic has a great website at www.mayoclinic.org that I encourage people to visit.  Among other things, you can view the different doctors and their stats, there is a “symptom checker”, and the tradition and history of the clinic is a very interesting article to read.   I know that there are a lot of fine medical facilities in Arizona, but I believe that the Mayo Clinic is a huge reason to look at Scottsdale and Arizona as a place to reside.
