If you plan on hitting the freeways around the Greater Phoenix area, I recommend this website to check all of your traffic needs before you go.   The information is provided by the Arizona Department of Transportation and it usually is fairly up to the minute.  Not only does it show road closures, but it indicates the speeds that are being traveled and you can click a link to actually see the traffic via a camera.  It also has a link that forecasts how long popular destinations may take to get to.
