Goooooooaaaaal!

Hearing the announcer shout GOAAAAAAAAALLLLLL brings  up so many memories on the field of lights and dreaming one day I can make it to a professional women’s soccer league.

Soccer is huge in so many countries and slowly catching on in the United States.  To watch soccer fans from all over the world dress up and support their teams, makes the Laker fans look small in comparison.

I have played soccer for over 15 years and my dreams of making it to the big leagues were shattered one day that I was carried off the field on a stretcher.  My knee will never be the same and my career was over. I was offered full ride scholarships to Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota and to see my dreams slip out of my hands was devastating.

I have no complaints on where my life has ended up. I have seen and experienced so many things I would never had if I did go on to play ball in College.  Soccer was still a huge part of my life, I went on to coach a high school boys team in Pittsburgh. I also coached a Pittsburgh all girls team. I still play to this day and to watch the World Cup, I get chills every time a goal is scored. The adrenalin they must fill when the ball is struck across the goal line has to be better then winning the lottery.
