In Support of Our Heroes… 10 Thing to do on 9/11
Let us not make this September 11th a day of sorrow, but instead a day to remember and honor the fallen and to celebrate the Heroes still fighting for our safety and freedom!!! Check out the 10 events and discounts below.
1. The Hero Festival and Ride will begins with a motorcycle ride from Cave Creek to Ashley Manor in Chandler followed by the main event… Heroes Festival featuring a special tribute to 9/11 heroes, live music and entertainment, brew & food for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the 100 Club of AZ, a local non-profit that provides immediate financial support to public safety officers and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty. 2. Operation Homefront is sponsoring a 1 mile walk around Steele Indian School Park with a free concert inside Memorial Hall. Registration begins at 10:15.
3. The Arizona 9/11 Remembrance & National Day of Service Event will be held at 3pm at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. They will a reading of victim’s names, a keynote speaker, city dignitaries, a candlelight vigil and patriotic music.
4. Many events will take place over the weekend at the Healing Field at Tempe Beach Park. They will fly one flag for everyone who died as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. There will be many speakers, a candlelight vigil, music, blood drive and much more. Click Here to read more about it.
5. The Chandler Center for the Arts will be hosting the Patriot’s Celebration starting at 7:30 pm. The Chandler Symphony Orchestra will perform. It will be free but with suggested donations of $10/adult, $5/child and $15/family.
6. Start your Saturday off with the 9/11 memorial Pancake Breakfast at the Goodyear Fire Station #185. Donation will be accepted benefiting United Goodyear Firefighters Charities. Click Here for more information.
7. The 2nd Annual Patriot Day Celebration will be fun for the whole family! There will be performances by Corinne Chapman and Phil Vandel, a fly over, a Regimental Grog for our Veterans, the Best Buy Fun Zone for the kids, a blanket collection, silent auction and so much more. 8. All weekend long Wet ‘n’ Wild is hosting Salute to Our Troops. Offering members of the active duty US military, veterans and active duty first responders park admission for 1/2 off General Admission. Plus family members are just $19.99 plus tax (up to six). 9. The Patriot’s Day Letter Writing to the Troops & Care Package Drive is taking place at the Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa from 7am to Noon. Letter and donations for care packages can be turned in at The Grill. There will also be a free buffet, tennis lesson and golf for all public service members, active and retired. 10. The 3rd Annual 9/11 Tribute Rally presented by American Legion Riders District 2. With breakfast at 9am at Legion post 7 in Tucson followed by registration starting at 11am. The ride will finish at 6pm at Legion post 109 for bike night, live music, vendors, 50/50, food and drink. Click Here to find out more about price and location.
